Hani Qubilat. Admit ting that you are sick is the first step to start cure oneself. In Arab world we have had a very bad experiences and different kinds of oppression during eighteenth and nineteenth centuries such as French, British, and Italian dominations. Moreover we have now neo-colonization; globalization, or modernization that means for me Americanization. This is an important part of our history and it creates some changes in our national identity . On the other hand, there are many strategies of resisting colonization and its influences upon our people. Writing back to colonization's discourse is one of those important strategies, but we don't see this kind of writing as we expect. Except of Mahmud Darwish and Ghasan Kanafani or some of Nagib Mahfouz's novels, maybe, we can consider Season of Migration to the North the most important Arab work that deals with the issue of decolonization, but in a radical way. I am among those who think that we should acquire new strategies of resistance. creating new institutions interested in decolonization strategies is one suggestion that deals with education system and religion discourse. The influences of decolonization are different some of them are gifts and some are knifes in the back, but even the gifts are not in positive meaning, they should inspire us to improve and enhance our situation. Chinua Achebe wrote a novel called Things Fall Apart, it is a good example of self criticism, and his motive is enhancing his fellow Nigerian people. In addition of that, those strategic plans should involve economic factor, because you can't be free until you eat what you grow and wear what you produce.
