Great Visit to Kazakhstan

By: Dr. Abdulrahim Abdulwahid

Surely, my visit to Kazakhstan was not my first abroad; it was within many countries I visited in all the continents, especially that I travel consistently. However, I felt strange feelings upon my first step on the airport of the Kazakhstan capital Astana; feelings full of fear of the trip unexpected in nature but fortunately ending up with the rise of situations enhancing my touristic culture. The surprise I had never expected was on return to where I came from without carrying with me memo, completely opposite to the moment I arrived and the time I am leaving this country when I felt unwilling to depart and this is due to its own reasons and motives.

The foreign land lured us to a special world and led us to the enchanting nature. The weather in May was great, the green areas and smiles were everywhere, the food that has no parallel anywhere else and the rainbow colors covering the sky, while the corners of the capital Astana were dancing to the music and beauty of nature.

The capital received me with gorgeous weather and very friendly people; everything here seemed new to me. The first minutes gave me the impression of a European city as there are large numbers of tourists, foreign companies, deluxe restaurants, modern and elegant art galleries and shops.

Astana the city that never sleeps; squares teeming with young people of both sexes, children and elder people; beating the drums and the high singing voices are everywhere. One gets tranquilized in the mystique of Astana. We wandered in the streets looking for the secrets of beauty and joy. How beautiful Astana is in those evenings filled with joy and pleasure.

Our eyes move between charm and beauty; we remain standing without boredom till sunrise. We drag our legs to rest in our beds, for long hours of the day, to go out again in the morning to the charming nature and green mountains.

I visited many important archeological and historical places; the old city is the first face of the trip exploring Kazakhstan in terms of tourism. The old modern buildings seem as if they are architectural icons taking you back to the depth of history, and they do not seem at all as ancient as the history of this country.

During the moments with the enchanting scenes, I recalled the history of this ancient city and its leading role in linking east with west. It brought back to us the details of the winter which we know in east countries including the smell of the rain, the feeling of the air dancing with the rains on its pure white streets.

Under its green cloak, all religions, civilizations and cultures meet and debate in harmony and tolerance to prove its global identity.

It was not only the place of past but its present speaks a lot about its evolution. The bottom line is success is not achieved by chance; success is not a game of fortune but it is an organized process requiring a clear political vision, good planning, hard work and insistence on achieving success. Kazakhstan Leader Nursultan Nazarbayev succeeded in creating a distinguished developmental model commensurate with its conditions. The important thing in this experience is the clear political vision with governmental and public commitment to achieve development with persistence. The Kazakhstan government has a great ability to mobilize the people behind its policy aimed at accomplishing development. Not only this but the Kazakh are characterized by a great ability to benefit from any opportunity available and end us with developmental gains providing prosperity and welfare for the people

Another feature of Kazakhstan that obsessed me was its people's kindness and generosity, especially in the village areas I visited during my trip. What attracted my attention the most is the cooperation and munificence of Kazakh people with any visitor and they do not cause any annoyance. We always hear about Kazakhstan, its people and its culture; I loved this country and its people from what we heard, touched and found in our visit and I wish to visit it again in order to know it better, especially the regions which we could not visit during this trip.

The beauty of this country never left my mind, I miss it very much and I do not know how time goes by so quickly in those nights. The celebrations ended in no time, and we came back again to our world and our country, but we dream to go back to this country once again one day.

Suddenly, the sun smiled on the day we left Kazakhstan capital, it went out timidly from behind the silver curtains of the clouds drawing its rays on the face of the immortal city which was a bridge for communication, coexistence and tolerance as well as an important passageway for international trade throughout the years.

I felt delicate feelings as if this place has become Like Home to me. I whispered to myself, saying: I will definitely return again.
